Great Britain manager Stuart Pearce has named both Ryan Bertrand and Daniel Sturridge in his 18-man Team GB squad for the London Olympics.

The Chelsea duo will join other members of the squad, which includes the likes of Ryan Giggs, Micah Richards and Craig Bellamy later this week ahead of the competition.

In his reaction, Bertrand said: 'We're all athletes, so we have that burning desire day in and day out when we approach our work that we'll need to bring into the tournament.

'They're really happy, very proud. Being from London and growing up in the city, it's not too far for them to travel either, so I'm sure it will be a fantastic occasion.'

Team GB start their Olympic campaign against Senegal at Old Trafford on 26 July, before facing United Arab Emirates at Wembley three days later. Their final group game is against Uruguay on 1 August at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.
