SUAREZ: LIVERPOOL FANS ARE HELPING ME

Luis Suarez says Liverpool fans help him give his best to the club on the pitch.
The talismanic No.7 has registered on the scoresheet 23 goals already this season, each and every one in the Barclays Premier League, to propel the Reds into the top four with a dozen games remaining.

The 27-year-old told the Liverpool Echo: ‘The fans have helped me so much. They have always supported me and always had confidence in me. I really feel that support in my heart.

‘I think this has been the best season of my career so far. It's my job to score goals and create goals, and help the team. When you have really good teammates and a manager who believes in you then it helps so much with your job.

‘For me, stepping onto the pitch knowing I have the confidence of the supporters means everything to me as a player. They help me to give my best.

‘I just love to play football. I always talk to the manager and tell him how much I want to play. Even in the cups against small teams, I like to play. There have been times when I have had knocks but I've been able to get on with it - my body and my head are very strong.’

Demba Ba: Drogba is mentally strong

Chelsea striker Demba Ba hails former Blues forward Didier Drogba.

The Senegalese forward said: ‘He has been an inspiration because when you are young you see someone like him as a big brother.

'Africa is not like a continent, Africa is like a country. You see players like him as a big brother, you see what he does and you think why not, I can do some stuff like this. I just kept believing in myself and doing what I did until now.

'Didier is so mentally strong as well. He got to Chelsea at a good time, with a good manager in Jose Mourinho, who helped him a lot.'

Drogba spent eight years at Stamford Bridge before moving on to Shanghai Shenhua and subsequently Galatasaray.
