Shevchenko quits football


Ukrainian football legend Andrei Shevchenko has finally quit football.

Shevchenko who played for big European clubs like AC Milan and Chelsea says he wants to go into football.

The 35 years old striker said: 'I want to devote myself to politics and share my experiences in Europe, do something for my country.

'My political goal is to support both the social and sports sectors.'

Shevchenko who was awarded the Ballon d'Or in 2004.

'Sheva' is currently the third highest ever goalscorer in European competitions with 67 goals, behind Raúl (77) and Inzaghi (70).
