Grant: John Terry is no racist

Former Chelsea manager Avram Grant says John Terry is not a 'racist'.

Grant has questioned the charge of the Football Association on Chelsea captain.

Terry has repeatedly denies the allegation of using 'abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour' towards Anton Ferdinand in a game against QPR on 23 October, 2011.

Terry and Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck have arrived at Wembley for the second day of the disciplinary panel hearing.

On 13 July, 2012, Westminster Magistrates' Court cleared the former England captain of making a racist insult to Ferdinand.

Grant said: 'Nobody thinks John Terry is a racist. The FA need to leave it.

'I think the message was clear and I don't think they need to charge him. For the FA, the more important thing is the message that it will not have racism in sport.

'One thing I must say about JT is that he's not a racist, that's for sure. He's a good man.

'He respects everybody, he's good with people and I was very surprised that people thought bad things about him.'
