The Portuguese praised City's development under manager Roberto Mancini but does not see the English side stopping his side.
He said: 'City started spending money and buying good players. They have done a good job under Roberto (Mancini), as they have bought well and have built an unbelievable framework. They won the league, the Community Shield…. Sooner or later they will be in a position to win the Champions leagues if they carry on like this.
'I know we can beat them, but for us, City are in that group of important teams who are potential winners of the competition and they are worthy opponents in the Champions league.'
