Sydney's Daily Telegraph
reports that the 34-year-old who left Aston Villa at the end of last season has already held discussions with Jets CEO Robbie Middleby and Troy Palmer, CEO of the Hunter Sports Group.
The club have refused to comment on the player, but it is believed that Heskey would be signed should he pass a medical. He is likely to join the Jets in time to face Alessandro Del Piero in the round 2 clash with Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium.
