Di Matteo: We will respect the rules
Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has announced that the duo of John Terry and Ashley Cole are fit for Saturday's Premier League match against Queens Park Rangers and will respect the pre-match handshake.
QPR player Anton Ferdinand has privately indicated he will not shake Terry's hand before the game but the clubs are still in talks.
Di Matteo said: 'We'll go ahead with it, yes. We will respect the rules.'
Ferdinand is also believed to be considering avoiding Ashley Cole in any pre-match line-up after the Chelsea defender testified as a character witness for Terry during the trial in July.
It is understood QPR and the Premier League have held talks about the possibility of cancelling the pre-match ritual, but no decision has yet been made. QPR manager Mark Hughes is expected to address the issue at his news conference on Friday.
Di Matteo said: 'They've recovered, had a couple of days training and we expect them to be available for tomorrow (Saturday).'
