Di Matteo: The referee didn’t do much about many challenges
Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has criticised the centre referee for not protecting his players from Juventus's players tackles.
Juventus's Leonardo Bonucci stamped on Oscar and was not punished. The £25million Brazilian midfielder limped off in the 75th minute.
Di Matteo said: 'It was a bad tackle on Oscar and he had to come off. If UEFA have a look at it, that would be good.
'The referee didn’t do much about many challenges — the one on Eden Hazard was a penalty. He got pushed and there was contact as well.'
The Italian manager said the final performance of his team was disappointing. The Blues lost a two goals lead to finish the game at 2-2 at Stamford Bridge.
He said: 'That was a big disappointment. We found ourselves in a great position to win the game and yet we only got a draw in the end.
'It was a good game of football but we feel a bit deflated because we were ahead and should have closed the game out.
'But we made a couple of mistakes and now it’s going to be very tough.' Sept. 20, 2012.
